- Shipping packaging e.g. shipping parcels
- Sales packaging e.g. games box, cosmetics box
- Transport packaging e.g. shipping carton, pallet
Who is obliged to do something?
In kurz: jeder. Die genauen Pflichten ergeben sich in der PPWR aus den fünf Rollen.
Die Rollenzuordnung ist leider nicht immer eindeutig. Zudem ist die Namensgebung der Rollen nicht schlüssig. Z. B. ist der Erzeuger nicht automatisch derjenige, der die Verpackung herstellt. Doppelbelegungen sind möglich, ein „Hersteller“ kann z. B. zeitgleich auch „Erzeuger“ sein. ….

What specific obligations must be fulfilled from 12.08.2026?
Stoffausschlüsse in Verpackungen (Art. 5)
- Limit values for heavy metals: The total concentration of lead, cadmium, mercury and chromium VI in packaging must not exceed 100 mg/kg.
- Limit values PFAS (only in food packaging)
Duty of suppliers to provide information
- For the purposes of the PPWR, you are the producer of the packaging we produce. We provide you with all the necessary information so that you can prove the conformity of the packaging.
Labelling of packaging
- Identification feature, e.g. batch number or serial number
- Kontaktinformationen des Herstellers (Firma, Adresse, Kontaktmöglichkeit wie Telefon oder Mail);
optional QR-Code
- When creating your print data, please ensure that the following information is included:
- Identification feature z.e.g. batch number or serial number
- Contact information of the manufacturer Yours or your customer's; optional QR code
- Alte Materialcodes (z. B. PET, PAP etc.) entfallen und dürfen ab 2028 nicht mehr verwendet werden. Ausschließlich EU-einheitliche Kennzeichnung (gibt es noch nicht)
