Why we voluntarily prepare a CO₂ balance sheet

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time. More and more companies are realising that they need to take responsibility and make their contribution to climate protection - including us. That is why we are currently a voluntary CO₂ balance sheet for our company. Our goal: a clear overview, how much CO₂ we cause annually - and how we can reduce these emissions in future.
We don't want to wait until CO₂ balances are required by law. We act proactive - for the environment, for more transparency and for our customers. Many companies already have to the carbon footprint of individual products specify. We want to create the necessary basis at an early stage to be able to offer our customers this service. Sustainable, honest and data-based.

CO₂ balance sheet explained simply: What are Scope 1, 2 and 3?

In CO² reporting, a distinction is made between three categories of emissions, known as "Scopes"

Scope 1

Direct emissions that we cause ourselves

z.e.g. through the operation of our production facilities or building air conditioning.

Scope 2

Indirect emissions from purchased energy

z.e.g. electricity, district heating

Scope 3

All other indirect emissions

e.g. our employees' journey to work, business trips, supply chains or the dispatch of our products.

Scope 3 emissions often make up the largest share of a company's total carbon footprint - and are also the most difficult to record.

Emission-free production

We operate our factory 100% without fossil fuels; 70% of the energy we need is provided by our own photovoltaic system

Energy management

We constantly measure, control and optimise our energy consumption. Because the cleanest energy is the,
which is not consumed.

Sustainable out of conviction

The protection of the environment and the careful use of all our resources is sincerely close to our hearts and stems from the values of our management.

For the environment, the future and customer service

>With our carbon footprint, we are laying the foundations for working in a more climate-friendly way in the long term. We don't just want to fulfil legal requirements, we want to actively take responsibility - for our environment, our future and our customers.
