Handover of environmental and climate certificate by Bayer. Minister of State Thorsten Glauber

Bayreuth, 21 March 2025 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. - High-ranking visitor at Hertel & Co. GmbH:
The Bavarian State Minister for the Environment and Consumer Protection, Thorsten Glauber, honours the company for its exemplary commitment to climate and environmental protection. During a personal visit, he presents the environmental and climate certificate. A significant milestone for the Bayreuth packaging manufacturer - and a strong sign of voluntary sustainable corporate responsibility.

Hertel & Co. GmbH is an innovative, third-generation family business from Bayreuth. As a manufacturer of packaging, displays and inserts, we have a special responsibility - protecting our environment and using resources sustainably are a matter close to our hearts. These values are deeply rooted in the philosophy of our management. We do not regard legal requirements as a limit, but rather as a basis that we far exceed out of our own conviction and with the highest level of commitment.
Our commitment to climate protection

Sustainability is not a trend for us, but a commitment. With innovative solutions and consistent action, we are actively committed to climate protection:

Our production is completely fossil-free. We already generate up to 70 % of our energy requirements ourselves - thanks to our high-performance photovoltaic system.
By using electricity meters on our machines, we precisely record and analyse our energy consumption. This allows us to continuously optimise our efficiency and sustainably reduce our energy requirements.
We utilise the waste heat from our machinery to heat our premises. We also use a heat pump that runs on our own solar power.
Our certified environmental management system helps us to reduce our environmental impact in a targeted manner and continuously improve our ecological performance.
Hertel & Co. GmbH joins the Bavarian Environment + Climate Pact
Since 29 January 2025, Hertel & Co. GmbH has been an official participant in the Bavarian Environment + Climate Pact. This commitment emphasises our dedication to sustainable business practices and the protection of our environment. During a personal visit, the Bavarian State Minister for the Environment and Consumer Protection, Thorsten Glauber, will present the official environmental and climate pact certificate. A tour of the factory is also planned, during which the Minister will be able to gain an impression of our environmentally friendly production processes. This will be followed by an in-depth discussion about our climate protection programmes before the official certificate presentation ceremony takes place
Finally, media representatives will have the opportunity to take photos with the Minister and the company representatives. We are delighted to be part of this initiative and to further strengthen our commitment to a sustainable future.
