Environmental protection and the sustainable use of resources have always been very important to us. Our management continuously promotes environmental awareness among its employees and does everything in its power to minimise energy consumption as far as possible.
The next logical step in this development is now the Preparation of a voluntary sustainability report - On the one hand, to present our progress openly and transparently and, on the other, to further improve our environmental footprint.
This is based on the UN's 17 sustainability goals
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals - in English Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - were adopted by the United Nations in 2015. They form the centrepiece of the Agenda 2030 and are aimed at all countries worldwide - regardless of their level of development or economic strength.
These global goals are intended to help make our world fairer, more peaceful and more sustainable. This is not just about environmental and climate protection, but also about social justice, economic stability and respect for human rights.
Assessment of the status quo
Sustainability is a process. In order to shape this path in a targeted manner, we at Hertel Kartonagen have systematically analysed where we stand today and what potential there is for even more sustainable corporate practice.
With the help of various analysis tools, we scrutinised our internal structures, processes and measures in the areas of sustainability, energy efficiency and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility). The focus was on the following key areas:
- Economic sustainability
- Social sustainability
- Ecological sustainability
- Management of sustainable developments
As part of the sustainability assessment with Bayern Innovativ, an in-depth analysis of our sustainability activities and a final discussion with specific recommendations for action took place. <Teilnahmezertifikat>

The results of this status quo survey now form the basis for our voluntary sustainability report. This should not only document our successes to date, but also define new goals - openly, measurably and comprehensibly.
